Port
of Call: Phu My -
Tour to Long Tan VungTau
with lunch
$60 USD/person if you are in a group of
10 tourists
The tour will commence at around 8am from
the port of Phu My and will travel around the southern
side of the Long Hai mountains, through the community of
Ba Ria to Long Phuoc. The journey is around 30km through
typical Vietnamese countryside with lush rice fields,
market gardens and farm houses that line the road.
The Long Phuoc tunnels were originally
dug for use against the French and were extended for use
in the Vietnam War. The tour allows access to the
tunnels, including a life-sized hospital room, kitchen
and bedrooms. These were the first tunnels in Vietnam,
they are original and not dug (or widened) especially
for tourists. (May also include a visit to Long Tan
Cross - Australian war memorial).
From Long Phuoc, the tour continues to VungTau,
approximately 25km. VungTau is
a favourite weekend beach escape destination for family
vacations from Ho Chi Minh City. VungTau was
known as Cap Saint-Jacques under French occupation and
was a popular beach resort for French, Australian and
American service personnel. The
tour includes visits to:
*Nui Nho (Nho Mount) leading to the spectacular Statue
of Jesus. Standing at 32m in height with 18.3m long arms
(the locals claim it is 6m larger than Rio’s Christ the
Redeemer), this statue serves as an excellent vantage
point to admire the whole city and shoreline. The visit
to the statue involves approx 900 steps, but it can be
viewed from lower down.
*Niet Ban Tinh Xa (Nirvana Pagoda), the majestic statue
of a recumbent Buddha, where visitors strike the giant
bronze bell for luck. *The White Villa (Bach Dinh) – once the weekend
retreat of French Governor Paul Doumer (later French
President). The villa is a beautiful colonial-era
residence with extensive gardens. *The Whale Temple (Thang Tam), which worships the
remains of a whale washed up onto the VungTau shore
over 100 years ago.
*VungTau Lighthouse.
With its peak located 170 meters above sea level, the
lighthouse offers panoramic views of the city - this
stop depends on time available.
Nha Trang

tailor-made excursions. Exploring the
country trails, village's life, town and
farms, pagoda, the best way to
experience the "true" Vietnamese
countryside. Through countryside trails,
villages towns and farms.. This
countryside tour offers you a
fascinating insight into the "real
lives" of everyday people who are the
backbone of Vietnam . Just a few
kilometers from Nha Trang 's beach front
is the picturesque countryside dotted
with palm trees, fruit orchards and
irrigated rice paddies.
The first stop of the tour is an
embroidery factory . Driving through
miles of flat rice fields to a rural
village, enjoy the opportunity to
interact with the local people as they
go about their daily lives, with farming
and cottage industries as their primary
source of income. The village path leads
us to the home of one family who weave
mats from rushes which grow abundantly
in the surrounding area. Two people
working together will weave just four
mats in a day, which will be taken to
the local market and traded for food and
other essentials.
Inspirational School Pagoda: The
children are taken care of by a group of
Buddhist nuns and volunteers. Their goal
is to provide the children with a safe
and caring environment which gives their
lives greater purpose and meaning. Being
a private organization, the pagoda is
trying to provide its children food,
health and education.
Tourists can take photos of Amitabha
Buddha statue at a height of 68 meters. Rice paper making: One of the most
typical food from rice steamed and
processed into round piece dried in the
sun on the bamboo brackets that are on
sale in the inns or shops.

making village: Manual skill work by
women, it's also your gift for your
friends when toward home.

Our tour guide and driver will pick you
up outside the Port to avoid port fees (

schedule and You walk about 10 Minutes

Depart for Hoi An and then Cam Thanh
Village. You will be Warmly welcomed by
a local family of 3 generations with
green tea. Then enjoy rowing a basket
boat with the help of skillful local
people, learning their traditional
fishing techniques in the water coconut
forest.
- Leave Cam Thanh Village for Hoi An
Town to take a leisurely walk to see
a Japanese Covered Bridge, Tan Ky
Ancient House, Hoi An Cultural and
Historical Museum, Chinese assembly
hall, Local Market. Then you take a local Boat to go
to Thanh Ha- a pottery village. See how
craftsmen making their products and
enjoy the peace of the village. Next
stop will be a rice paddy field to take
photos with water Buffalo or you can
ride on water Buffalo and learn how to
keep balance on Water Buffalo.
After that pay a visit to a local family
house for lunch with local Authentic
Food ( Rice Pancake, Spring Rolls,
Steamed Shrimp & Pork, Mackerel
Barbecued Fish, Morning Glory cooked
with Garlic, Steamed rice, Seasonal
Fruits ) . Then you will enjoy a
traditional therapeutic foot bath with

Buddha - Marble Mountains - Hoi An
Tour guide and driver pick you up
outside the port and transfer to see a
Giant Lady Buddha Statue, the tallest
one in Viet Nam located at Linh Ung
Pagoda on Son Tra Peninsula in Da Nang.
The statue leans on the mountains facing
the sea with 17 floors in the statue
lap, each floor has an altar with 21
Buddha statues which have different
shapes, facing expression and posture.
The next stop will be Marble Mountains
with five marble and limestone hills
named after the five elements: Metal,
Water, Wood, Fire and Earth. The Marble
Mountains where you can observe a great
city & ocean , and explore the natural
caves, visit the the holy pagoda.
And then you will visit Hoi An, the
World Heritage Site located along Thu
Bon River. The ancient town has remained
unchanged for centuries. Hoi An used to
be the international trading port of
Champa Kingdom to import and explore
wood, gold, silk. At that time, Hoi An
had some trade fairs that attracted lots
of merchants from Holland, Portugal,
Japan and China to come with their
goods. After the river became shallow,
Da Nang was the harbor replacing for Hoi
An in 18th century.
The walking tour in the old town, the
tour guide will show you and explain the
whole history of the Japanese bridge, a
traditional house, a Chinese Assembly
Hall, a cultural and historical museum
and the market.
On the way back to the ship, we will
stop you at My Khe Beach (the R&R beach where US marines landed in and stayed
in during Viet Nam War.

Located on the bank of Song Huong-
Perfume River; Hue, the capital of Thua
Thien Hue province in Central Vietnam,
is 700 km southern Hanoi, 1100km
northern Ho Chi Minh City, and only a
few miles from the sea. Not until 1945
was Hue the national capital, the
political, cultural and religious center
of Vietnam under the control of Nguyen
Dynasty. Most well-known for its
historic values; Hue had been recognized
as one of the World Heritage Sites by
UNESCO.
Pick up with a sign of your name to

Arrive to Hue and visit the Citadel,
Hue’s prime attraction, which contains
the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple
City and the Emperor’s Private
Residence. Hue has been known as the
Imperial City of the Nguyen Emperors
rising to glory during their reign from
1802 – 1945.
Visit Thien Mu Pagoda considered by many
as the unofficial symbol of Hue, Thien
Mu is an active Buddhist monastery with
origins dating back to 1601. One of its
most poignant displays is a car
belonging to a former monk, who in 1963,
drove to Saigon and set himself alight
to protest against the South Vietnamese
regime.
Visit the serene Khai Dinh Royal Tomb,
designed to blend in with its natural
surroundings and built on principles of
feng-shui.

Today we are visiting Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon
Vietnam on our Diamond Princess Asia
Cruise vlog series. On this Diamond
Princess cruise we'll cover 2800
nautical miles and visit Tokyo, Shimizu,
Osaka, Taipei (Keelung), Hong Kong, Nha
Trang & Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)
Vietnam, and Singapore. We booked this
tour through Pham Tours.
We start off this morning's Princess
cruise vlog with a picturesque look at
Phu My cruise port in Vietnam. Phu My is
not a tender port, so we just hopped
right of the ship and headed for the
exit gate. In Phu My, however, just
walking out the exit is not an option.
You have to take a bus to the exit. So
we waited in very short line, and
ultimately made our way out. After a
quick trip out the gate, we met our
guide, hopped on a very comfortable mini
bus, and started our journey to the Rex
hotel. At the Rex hotel we drank
fantastic Vietnamese coffee, listened to
the informative talk of our guide Tu,
and took in the beautiful views around
the hotel. The next stop on our tour was
a fascinating temple where we were
guided through burning incense, and
entertained with discussions about the
culture and history of the area.
Afterward we embarked on probably one of
the craziest things we've done on an
excursion. We traveled around the busy
streets of Ho Chi Mini City Vietnam by
rickshaw. Now, to clarify, being on a
rickshaw was not the crazy part. The
crazy part was the Ho Chi Minh City
traffic, and feeling so close to it. It
was a super fun adventure, and we highly
recommend it. Next up was a stop for Pho
lunch at the delectable Pho 2000
restaurant. The food was terrific. The
restaurant was wonderfully chaotic, and
certainly a must try experience. After
lunch we took a quick trip to the
market. Our guide told us we shouldn't
bother trying to buy anything, because
the haggling is commonplace. Other brief
stops included Vietnams version of Notre
Dame, and a famed post office. Following
those brief stops, we headed off to the
War museum. The war museum is a good
stop for anyone interested in this dark
period, and the historical significance
of these events. We decided the images
and other related items were too
disturbing for our young son, and spent
the majority of this stop in a nearby
coffee shop. The final stop on our
adventure was a Lacquer factory where we
were treated to a thorough explanation
of the process involved in creating
these beautiful pieces of art. After the
explanation we were allowed to spend
some time shopping for souvenirs. We
close out the video with a look at Phu
My port. This was a quite day on our
Diamond Princess cruise adventure. It
was varied, exhilarating, and
educational all wrapped up in one
package. From the fun conversations with
our guide, to the mouth watering Pho at
Pho 2000, and the up close interaction
with Ho Chi Minh City traffic, it was
another memorable day on our Princess
