SAIGON -
DALAT - LAK LAKE - BUON MA THUOT - KON TUM - HOI AN (7
DAYS)
Day 1: Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)
Upon arrival in Saison, we will welcome you at the
airport and transfer you to the hotel to take the rooms
for relaxing a bit.
In the afternoon, about 5.00 pm we will
explore the city on foot: Notre Dame Cathedral, Main
Post Office, City Hall, Ben Thanh Market, Opera
House…before we stop for Welcome Dinner.
Day 2:
Saigon – Dalat
In the morning we depart by bus to the
highlands. The interesting journey takes us past Tri An
Lake. En route, we visit Dambri Waterfall near Bao Loc
and explore tea, coffee and mulberry plantations.
Lunch at one of local restaurants in Bao
Loc, then continue our journey to Dalat, lying at 1475
meters above sea level.
Dalat is popular with visitors because it
has a cool and equable climate usually remaining between
10º C and 20º C throughout the year. This ‘eternal
spring’ is responsible for its increasing importance as
a fruit and flower growing area. First class blooms,
soft fruits and vegetables are grown for export and
airlifted all over Asia. Dalat has many natural and
artificial lakes such as Ho Xuan Huong, Than Tho, Da
Thien, and Tuyen Lam bordered by lines of pine trees,
which are a well-known feature of Dalat. A trip to Dalat
is not complete until one goes to the Dalat Flower
Gardens. The temperate climate of Dalat is suitable for
flowers such as orchids, roses, lilies, and camellias.
Overnight in Dalat City.
Day 3:
Dalat, “City of Eternal Spring”
In the morning we explore the colorful
market. Then a bus brings us to the meditation pagoda
Thien Vien Truc Lam, located in a beautiful mountain
setting at the shore of a crystal clear mountain lake.
Later a boat takes us to the islands. After a lunch
under pine trees, we soak in the unique landscape on the
back of an elephant. In the afternoon we take a ride on
the legendary steam train route to Mat Trai Village.
There we visit the Mosaique Pagoda. Return trip through
the vegetable fields.
Day 4:
Dalat – Lak Lake
Today we leave Dalat to head to highway
27 to Lak lake. We will stop en route to visit Mushroom
Farm and Silkworm Factory before check-in to our
bungalow resort or a traditional longhouse of the local
population.
Lak Lake - Jun Village (the village of
M’nong Ethnic Minority).
Lak Lake, located at Lien Son town – Lak
district, one of the largest natural freshwater lake in
Vietnam. Lak Lake has an area of about 500 hectares,
situated at an altitude of over 500m above sea level.
Residents living around the lake are
mostly the M'Nong, villages like Le, Jun, M'Lieng still
keep their customs and traditions, and retain a lot of
precious things in the traditional long house-on-stilts
like the K’pan(long bench used for visitors or artisants),
the H'gor(female-drum), gongs,etc….
Surrounded by the primitive forests of
the Central Highlands , Lak lake is a higlight of the
region, so, when visiting here, tourists can enjoy the
diversity of fauna - flora. According to statistics,
there are 548 species, in which 118 families of them,
132 species of birds, 61 mammals, 43 reptiles,
amphibians, including some endemic and rare. Besides,
Lak lake is shelter of numerous species of aquatic life,
fish and shellfish which are major economic resource for
local residents living in the area around the lake. This
is really a splendid lake; a destination of Ecology -
Culture unique attractions with a natural poetic beauty
of the surrounding mountains and forests. Come to Lake
Lak, visitors not only have opportunities to explore the
natural beauty, ride an elephant visiting villages, row
a dug-out canoe sightseeing around the beautiful lake
and see local people fishing by their own ways but also
enjoy Gongs shows, exploring the cultural traditions of
indigenous people - The M'nong.
We take a boat to cross the lake to visit
the Jun Village, walk through the village, go into their
house to learn about their traditions, customs and
cultures.
Back to the resort, take a shower, then
we have home dinner at a family living by the lake.
After dinner enjoy the traditional live
music show of GONGS by M’nong people and drink wine from
large urns through a pipe.
Stay overnight at Lak Lake.
Day 5:
Lak Lake – Waterfalls – Buon Ma Thuot
In the morning we do elephant riding
around the lake and through the village. Then we leave
for Buon Ma Thuot. We stop in town for lunch and
continue our trip to the waterfalls. We visit coffee,
rubber and pepper plantations on the way.
The Dray Nur, Dray Sap, and Gia Long
waterfalls situated about 30 km to the southwest of Buon
Ma Thuot city. These three waterfalls are located on the
Srepok river which mingled by the Krong No (Husband
river) and the Krong Ana (Wife river). High altitude
operation with rushing water and powerful sounds are
really impressive for the visitors. Fogs spray out,
soaring along with the forest landscape created majestic
scenery. This group of waterfalls is not just a place
for tourists to enjoy the natural beauty but also an
ideal place for those who want to enjoy outdoor
activities such as walking along the river from the Gia
Long falls to the DraySap falls, or wading through the
suspension bridge over the river from DraySap to Dray
Nur waterfall. This is also a great place for picnic
trips.
We come back to Buon Ma Thuot City to
check-in to our hotel and stay overnight here.
Day 6:
Buon Ma Thuot – Yok Don National Park – Kon Tum
In the morning the bus brings us to Yok
Don National Park.
Yok Don National Park (Buon Don district)
situated more than 40 km to the west of Buon ma Thuot
city with 115.545hectares where is the conservation of
natural resources of precious national forest ecosystem.
Especially, deducious forest, with rare animals, natural
lakes, rivers, waterfalls.
This forest has many different species of
birds, rare animals, many varieties of orchids and
herbs. Including, 62 animals, 169 birds, 46 reptiles, 13
amphibians, 464 species of plants, mostly orchid pearl;
besides 56 species of rare animals, there are 38 species
in this park, 17 of them named in the World Red Book.
Some common species of wildlife such as elephant, tiger,
panther, bear, wild buffalo, fly mink, gaur, otters,
jackals, pheasants ... and other rare birds like the
eagle, and land royal phoenix. Yok Don National Park is
a place that receives the wild elephants from Tanh Linh
forest - Binh Thuan province in 2001.
Over the years, this is an attracting
spot for domestic and foreign tourists. Tourism types
here included: Hiking, camping, elephant riding, bird
watching, or seeing animals at night by pick-up trucks.
We take a walk through the village of Ede
Ethnic Minority, cross bamboo suspension bridge then
visit the house of the King of elephant hunting.
Back to Buon Ma Thuot for lunch then head
to national highway 14 to Kon Kum. We arrive in Kon Tum
late in the afternoon. Check-in to our hotel and relax.
Day 7:
Kon Tum – Hoi An
Today we take a walking trip though the
village of Bahnar Ethnic Minority. You have chance to
admire the imposing Rong houses, meet friendly Bahnar
people to learn about their cultures and customs. We
visit a Wooden Church, the Emboidery Village and the
Orphanage.
We drive on the Ho Chi Minh trail to Hoi
An. On the road you will marvel at the views as the
lanscapes along the road is quite spectacular. We finish
our trip in Hoi An before dark.
